Van Metre Homes – a Dedicated HomeAid Partner

Did you know? Van Metre Homes led the renovation of a historic six-bedroom home that provided new safe and stable housing for two homeless families. The project was 78% donated and has helped to provide a home for homeless families and survivors of domestic violence. vmspinsalelogo
The Ives House, owned by Falls Church Presbyterian Church and operated by Shelter House, had been vacant for several years and was badly in need of repair. Van Metre stepped up as Builder Captain for the project, leading a renovation that was valued at nearly $40,000. The transformation was remarkable – together, Van Metre Homes, HomeAid and 15 trade partners, sub-contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers turned this house from a building into disrepair into a home for families in need of a safe place to live.

“Van Metre and HomeAid have turned an otherwise impossible dream into reality.”

– Laura Martin, Shelter House

Although they completed their first project in 2013, Van Metre Homes has supported us for several years through participation on our Board of Directors and this year, Brian Davidson, Executive Vice President (Van Metre Homes), has stepped up to serve as our Board President.
In 2014, the Van Metre Companies Foundation designated HomeAid Northern Virginia as the beneficiary of the Annual Van Metre Cornhole Challenge, raising more than $30,000 for HomeAid Shelter Projects. Cornhole pic
